Good Friend, Good Time, Good Move?
I got to hang out today with one of my friends and one of the people I consider a mentor, Tony McCollum. Tony has bent over backwards for me since the first day I met him and I always feel challenged and smarter after hanging with him.
I took him to our new location we will be moving too and he gave me some great advice.
I think it is so important for church planters to have people like this in their life. I am a lot of things (cocky, jerk, etc.) but one thing I have always been is a student. I love to learn from others. I study churches and church planters and I learn from their mistakes and it has helped us from making many.
We church planters think we know everything (and for the most part we do) but never get to the point where you can’t learn from those actually doing the job.
