I had to start with momma. West Ridge Church is our mother church. I had the honor of serving on staff there and I can truly say it is one of the premier church plants in America. WRC is an 8 year old church plant meeting in Paulding County, Georgia. They currently run around 3,000 on Sunday mornings and are meeting in a High School Gym! It is obvious that God’s hand is on them.

Besides the obvious, that God has chosen to bless and grow WRC, I thought I would share some things that I feel have led to their success (this are just my opinions).

1.) The Leadership is Tremedous - Brian Bloye might be one of the sharpest leaders I have ever been around. He leads the staff and equips them to lead the church. I grew more in my time under his leadership then at any other place I have been.
2.) Focus on Children - They have a GREAT preschool, elementary age, middle school, and high school. The have put the talent and the resources in these areas and it shows.
3.) Buy-in - The people of WRC buy into what the church is doing. During my time there I never heard people complain about not having a building, about decisions that were made, etc. Did they? I am sure they did but overall the buy-in was awesome.
4.) Inviting Friends - WRC barely does any advertising in the community yet EVERYONE in town knows about them. It is a church where you want to invite your friends and the people do it with a passion.
5.) Excellence - Nothing is second rate.
6.) Area - They hit Paulding at the right time. The area was prime for a church of this style.
7.) Worship - I believe WRC has probably one of the greatest worship pastors in America. Never underestimate the power of music in a new church.
8.) Vision - The church knows where it is going and there is no compromising

There are many more things I could list but you get the idea. WRC truly is a one of a kind place. If you are planting a church and can get to West Georgia, WRC is a “must” on the check out list. The way in which they transform a school to a church every week is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life.

So, there you have it, my first cool church plant: WEST RIDGE CHURCH
