Might be the medicine…
Sunday, November 20th, 2005but I doubt it. For about the last three weeks I have just become bored with blogging.
It really is that simple.
I’m bored.
I’m done for the year.
Talk to you next year.
Peace.

One of my best friends in ministry is Tony McCollum. The dude is also one of the funniest people I have ever met. Check out the video they did for their new series. Click here.
I am not sure if I have ever posted my thoughts on the SBC here on my blog. To be honest, I am not sure I ever will again unless I want too. The SBC takes a lot of heat and to be honest they might deserve some of it.
However I will say the North American Mission Board led by Bob Reccord has impressed me. Bob put together a Missional Leader Taskforce made up of about 14 young, missional leaders across America for the purpose of coming up with ways that NAMB could embrace and be more relevant to young leaders.
I was named to this task force. At first I figured I didn’t have time for it but then I figured it I wanted to gripe about the convention I better come and do my part when asked. ![]()
I left the meeting very impressed with the openess to new ideas and actually left excited. We meet again in the morning and I am looking forward to it.
There could be come cool things coming down the pipe for young, missional SBC pastors.

DeAnna has me locked in the bedroom so the rest of the house doesn’t get sick so I had to pull out the Greatest Hits by the greatest rock band ever: Guns N Roses.
Without a doubt they are my favorite.
They have been the Sunday Night Unwind before but after today I had to go back to a classic.
Sweet Child of Mine
Patience
Welcome to the Jungle
November Rain
Civil War
Knocking on Heaven’s Door
Paradise City
Just to name a few. If you don’t have this CD downloaded, then download it.
I have been vomiting since Friday (thought you would like to know that). I was so sick today that I should have stayed home but I didn’t want to dump my message on Preston at the last minute so I showed up. I probably should not have. I am not sure I made any sense today but our people were good and showed me grace ![]()
They also rubbed in the fact that Clemson and Ga. Tech won. ![]()
So tonight the unwind starts early.
Journey: Greatest Hits
Steve Perry can flat out sing.
My friend Scott King has finally started a blog.
Check it out here. The dude knows his stuff when it comes to worship and sound.
I knew going into this week it was going to be very busy. I had staff meeting on Monday. I was out of town Tuesday and Wenesday. Today I was supposed to be in a coaching network with a bunch of pastors, and Friday I am supposed to have Thanksgiving lunch with Ashlyn at her preschool. Oh yeah in between all that I still had to finish this weeks sermon and do that whole pastoring thing. ![]()
Well last night DeAnna and Ashlyn start looking real bad. I knew it wasn’t going to be good then about midnight it started. I have cleaned up more vomit in the last 12 hours then I thought was possible (didn’t you want to know that). Needless to say, today’s plans changed and I am home. I left my computer at the office so I can’t work on my sermon and I am just here knowing I still have a lot to get done before Sunday.
I love staying busy and I love Ridge Stone but even it has takes the backburner to some things. It has been a tough day but it has been nice just to chill and take care of the family for once instead of them taking care of me.
Hey guys when you put your church webpage together don’t have a picture of you and your wife in matching shirts or even shirts that are the same color. Also denim shirts are not happening right now. ![]()
Just a little advice for all of those who really didn’t want it. ![]()
I had a meeting today down at West Ridge Church. I served on staff at WRC before starting The Stone and it is a great church. They are about a month away from moving into their first building and all I can say is WOW!
They have been meeting in a school the last 8 years and man they made up for lost time with this building. It is 98,000 sq feet of one of the most awesome buildings I have ever seen. They did a great job on it and it didn’t appear they cut a corner anywhere.
A building is something I spend very little time thinking about and when I do it literally brings knots to my stomach. I want a building but the stress to make it happen is something I don’t want to fool with. I know there will come a day for that but right now I’ll just live through West Ridge and New Spring as their buildings go up.
Man that was rough last night. I can’t believe Georgia lost that game. But those are the type of games that you always remember and you can actually kind of live with the lost, unlike the Florida game. ![]()
The worst thing is I am having lunch with Perry this week and stinking Clemson won.
