BTW…That was literally the 2 most intense hours of TV I have ever watched last night. Man that was awesome!!!!!!! When Jack put a cap in her knee…dude, I did not see that coming! That was GREAT! Then when Edger walked into the room and it was to late my jaw literally dropped. Man, I dug that cat.

I guess next week someone else bites the bullet. I hope it is Kim’s boyfriend. You just come up in there and try to punk Jack out. Who did he think he was? He bites it next week….I hope.

Anyone heard this?

General — Gary Lamb on March 7, 2006 at 8:27 pm

I heard today that if every church in America was 100% full for two services on Sundays that there would only be room for 6% of Americans to attend.

Is that true?

Pastors Beware…

General — Gary Lamb on March 7, 2006 at 6:53 pm

One of the people who helped start The Stone told me that Sunday they were passing one of the churches in town and the pastor was basically standing in the street motioning people into their parking lot. He said at first he didn’t know who it was, then as he swerved to miss from hitting him, he realized who it was. I just laughed when he told me. I KNOW that if he would have hit this pastor who was basically standing in the road that I would have been blamed for putting a hit out on him. :)

O’Henry

Got to talk on the phone with Henry Judy today. Wow, the dude has a lot of energy. He wore me out listening to his vision! He got me excited and ready to move to his area to plant. :) I figured since he is a Clemson fan that he would barely be able to complete a sentance and would seem a little slow but he wasn’t. :)
Hey Henry, I enjoyed talking to you dude and I am stoked for you guys!

Church Media Guru…Live @ The Stone

General — Gary Lamb on March 7, 2006 at 6:19 pm

Next weekend we are bringing in THE Church Media Guru, Anthony Coppedge is coming to The Stone for some consulting. I have known Anthony for about two years now. I actually met Anthony on an online pastors forum and we just clicked. I got to hang out with him in October while I was chilling at Palm Valley and he is a great guy who knows his stuff. We really need to improve our video and lighting but we really don’t know what that means so that is where Anthony comes in. Another cool thing about Anthony is even though he lives in Texas we have a family that comes to our church because HE told them about us! How cool is that?

To make things cooler he is going to cruise with us to the C3 Regional at New Spring. The trip to New Spring is going to be a blast. Hopefully Greg is coming into town (hey bum, return my e-mails) and going as well. I’m looking forward to it!

We are in fine tuning mode at The Stone right now. We have someone coming in to work with our Host Team this Saturday, I’m sending a couple of our staff to the First Impression Conference next week, I’m taking back over the Home Teams to get them where they should be, and Erick is rocking with the students!!!! I told DeAnna tonight that I think 110 mph is a speed we bettter get use to because I don’t seeing it slowing down anytime soon.

I LOVE CHURCH PLANTING!!!!!

Here comes the Judge…

Tim and I work at every morning at Gold’s. It is a good way to start the day and the relationships we have made have been very cool. One of the guys we have really clicked with is a judge. I really like the him, he is a funny dude. He also seems to really care and take his job seriously.

Today he walked in the coffee shop and we were in there and he said I was the only pastor he had ever met that talked smack. :)
I don’t know why but I have though about that all day and it made me laugh every time. :)

Fun Day

General — Gary Lamb on March 5, 2006 at 6:02 pm

I woke up this morning and for the first time in three weeks it wasn’t freezing outside!! For some reason that pumped me up and got me pretty excited. I normally ride to the office and just pray but today I cranked the music up and enjoyed the ride! Church was fun today. Nothing spectacular happened but it was just a fun service. Our attendance was good, the kids were overflowing, the music was GREAT, and I taught on the Prodigal Son as I continued on with our parenting series. If a preacher can’t preach on the Prodigal then he might as well hang it up. I think the Prodigal is one of the easiest stories to apply to everyone. If you are lost, it let’s you know that the Father is waiting for you. If you are saved, it reminds you of that fact.

Another cool thing I noticed today for the first time is our teens are starting to seat together and you can see friendships starting to form. It is fun to see teens getting “it.”

After church we had our newcomers lunch. I always love seeing and meeting all the new people at the Stone. It is so fun to hear how people find out about us, I love it!

We have a lot of work to do before Easter and I’m excited. We are going for two services on Easter so that is going to be fun. Right now our biggest weakness is our lobby. We have GREAT host team members but we need to improve the look of it quite a bit. It is so easy to get focused on the main worship space and kids area that you forget about the lobby, we need to improve it. This weekend I have Judy Marshall from West Ridge coming in to train our Host Teams on this vital area. I think Judy is the da bomb in this area and I am excited she is coming. If I could steal one person from the WRC staff it would be her. :)
Spring is here and I’m pumped up!

BTW, I had several of our people call me a chicken for turning off the comments on the blog. They love to see all the people who get PO’d at what we are doing. I thought that was funny. I thought it was funny some of the things they had to say about the haters. It made me laugh. I love our people!

Full Stage Picture

I have gotten three or four e-mails from guys meeting in movie theatres wanting to know if I had a picture that got our entire stage and screens in a shot. This is the best one I was able to find. Help this is helps….

New Logo

General — Gary Lamb on March 4, 2006 at 8:22 pm

Here is our new logo tweak. We wanted to freshen up our logo, add some colors to our color scheme, make it a little more compact and overall just give it a new look without changing it totally. We have spent to much cash and to much time marketing it to totally change it. I’m pretty happy with the new look.

99X

General — Gary Lamb on March 4, 2006 at 7:47 am

I got to hang out with my boy Scott yesterday morning and go in studio for the morning show on 99X. I had a blast! It was cool to get in behind the scenes and when they found out we were pastors we got to go on air. They didn’t know what church planters were and they couldn’t understand why we would “christians” would be listening to their station. Then one of the dudes (Wally) talked about some lady in church who rides him all the time and tells his wife everything he talks about on air. He wanted to know if we thought he was a hypocrite. I go to describe our churches as “the church that comes to town and pisses all the other churches off.” They loved that.

Of course the discussion turned to some little small church in town that they wanted to know about. I was going to act like I had never heard of it but Scott gave a sales pitch for them. :)
It was a great time. After we got down they brought this rough looking girl in and she gave everyone pointers on how to go on the tour buses of rock stars. I think she has been on Ozzy’s, Brett Michaels, Vince Neils, and a few others. It was sad. :( But if you are into that she said the secret is to wear as little clothing as possible. So there ya go, I have always wondered what the secret was.
