Gary Lamb World Tour Completed

Friday, October 27th, 2006

I visited my last Home Team last night and it was AWESOME. I am so glad to see how great all of our HT’s are doing and I am so pumped to see so many people plugged into them. It has taken us two years but HT’s have hit their stride. Malcolm is doing a great job!

While all the HT’s were great, the Waleska HT by far as the best food. Man, they do a full course meal EVERY week and it was off the hook!!!!

Thank you all for putting up with my invading your small groups and I am excited about all the things we discussed.

Be careful what you pray for

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

This Sunday is Commitment Sunday for us at The Stone and I told our people this last week that I was praying that God would stretch our faith as never before. Well….so far we have had a broken leg, a transmission fall out, a bad business deal and many other things happen to our people.

I know they are freaking out but I love it! I hate that we are under attack but I love that what God has planned for this week has the devil nervous.

Some have jokingly asked me to change my prayer but I am going to start praying it more. I want this to be the ultimate time of us growing in our faith as a church.

Sunday is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do whatever it takes to be there and I promise you will not regret it.

Tired and Blah

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Man, I am feeling rough tonight. I have been working crazy visiting all the Home Teams, dealing with all the day to day stuff here at the office, and working behind the scenes on some cools things I hope to announce soon.

Tonight I missed my first Home Team but luckily it is a HT full of our leaders and they know all the crazy things we are doing. Still, it stunk to not get to hang out. Woodstock HT, I will catch you guys in one of the coming weeks….I promise. :)
I’m now going to sleep :)

REAL weekend

Friday, October 20th, 2006

I have been so busy with all that is going on around here it has been a LONG time since I took my full days off. Not good I know but reality for about the last month.

This week I started to hit the wall. Along with visiting a Home Team every night this week, I am wore out. So today I took the day off. I got up and took Ashlyn to school, I’m going to eat lunch with Matt Evans and tonight Tim and Courtney are watching the kids (pray for Tim and Courtney AND the kids).

Then tomorrow I am taking it upon myself to make sure Georgia starts winning again. A awesome dude in the church is taking me to the game and we will be chilling in the Coke Suite! I am excited about hanging out with this dude and watching the Dawgs get back on track before we head south to kick the Gator’s tails next week. For the first time in my life I will be rooting for Georgia Tech. I am now losing my bet to Perry Noble and I need Clemson to lose to tie it up. Go Yellow Jackets. :)
Then Sunday I get to do what I love and hang out with all of the Ridge Stoners and worship God together. I am excited about the sermon I will be teaching you and I feel it will “stretch” you in ways you have never thought about. It is going to be awesome!

Home Team Marathon

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

I visit my 3rd Home Team in three nights tonight. It makes for crazy long days but I am enjoying checking out the HT’s and seeing who is in them and who has the best food. So far the Burton HT seems to be winning because the Denmon food had no food!!!! :)
It has been cool to sit with our people and cast vision for where we are going and also hearing your comments and questions about RSC.

Tonight it is Preston’s HT so I imagine the food and fellowship will be great!

Chris Elrod, Jim Bruer, and AC/DC

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

How is that for a subject line? :)
One of the first posts I ever made in this blog was a link to a mp3 of Jim Bruer doing the Hokey Pokey to AC/DC. IT is my favorite comedy sketch there is, period.

I am a metal fan and I think Bruer is the bomb!

Well my boy Chris Elrod posted a link on YouTube today where you actually see him do his thing.

If you haven’t seen this you have to click here and check it out!!!!

INKED: Leaving Your Mark

Monday, October 16th, 2006

I don’t really know how to compare how our campaign is going compared to other campaigns because I have never been in one but I am excited about the buzz in the church with our INKED series as we take the steps necessary to break through the next growth barrier and put ourselves into a position to reach this community in even a greater way.

For the next two weeks I will be visiting every Home Team to hang out and answer your questions about what we are doing and what the future holds for The Stone. I look forward to hanging out with all of you and talking about what God has in store for us.

BTW, I will be taking notes on which HT has the best food so make sure I am fed well on my visit. :)

Holy Hangover

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

HUGE shout out to EVERY ONE who made church happen today. Tim was chilling on a cruise and Pete (does all the lighting set-up) was with him. On top of that, our sound guys were both out of town this morning. Yet you guys on the set-up team, tech team, sound team, video team, etc. made the service go off without a hitch! You guys rock!

Evan did a GREAT job leading worship today. Man he has grown a lot. I look forward to having Tim back this week but Tim and Joel do a great job in his place. The music was rocking!!!!

This series has probably taken more out of me on a spiritual front then any series we have done. Teaching on vision and giving opens you up to spiritual attack like never before. On top of that as DeAnna and I pray about our gift to the campaign, we have experienced spiritual warfare like never before. I love it when the devil is fired up at us!!! It means we must be doing something right.

Over the next two weeks I will be visiting EVERY Home Team in the church to answer questions about INKED and what is next for the church. I’m excited about hanging out with everyone.

I appreciate your prayers over the next few weeks.

  • Pray for my family
  • Pray for me to have time to stay focused on God and the vision He has given us
  • Pray for our staff
  • Pray for the leadership
  • Pray for God to continue to send unchurched people our way
  • Pray for how God wants you to partner with us during this AWESOME time

Also mark you calendars for October 29th for C2 Sunday. We will be celebrating all that God is doing here and we will be making commitments to INKED on this day. It is going to be a AWESOME Sunday and you will not want to miss it.
