Posting the Freak of the Week early this week because I will be way tired tomorrow and won’t do it.

Gene and Rhonda have been attending The Stone since around last Easter and lately they have just stepped it up big time. They are hosting a Home Team, Gene serves on our Set-up and Tear-down crew and Rhonda has taken on the task of making sure that every room in Tiny Town is stocked with supplies every week! They have locked in like few others.

On top of that Gene owns a helicopter and we used and abused it this last week filming some video for our upcoming Easter promos and Easter day. He got sick of driving into Atlanta for work so he bought a helicopter to get him there quicker. That is very pimp.

He took the entire afternoon on Tuesday and got all the footage we needed and never complained. Very cool.

When you see Gene and Rhonda this week let them know you think they rock!

No, I am not their pimp and no I do not get a cut but I really believe in the work these guys do.  Early on in our church it was hard for us to get good graphic work done at good prices.  We are actually thinking of hiring a graphic/video person in the near future due to our growth, but until then we use these guys for EVERYTHING!!!

In the past they have balanced the graphic/web design wth “real” jobs, but they informed me this week they are going at it full time.  To me that means even better work and even faster turn around time.

I honesty believe o2 as good graphically and in the web design department as anyone I have ever used or seen.  Their work is GREAT.

The thing I love about them personally is the fact they themselves are planting a church!  Church planters understand church planters.

I’m pumped!  Tonight we are off to Nickelback.  I have heard that put on a great live show and I love the venue they are playing so it should be a fun night.

We filmed Easter footage for about 6 hours today and part of that involved me spending a lot of time in a helicopter flying over Canton. Anyone who knows me very long knows that I do NOT do flying very well at all. Actually I am scared to death of it.

After the helicopter took off and I relaxed I was speechless. I could NOT believe what the area God has called me too looked like flying above it. To see the growth and to see how much room there is to grow jacked me up about reaching this area and thinking a lot about the best method for reaching the people.

I shared with our staff today how God has really stretched my heart and passion beyond Canton. RSC was never started to be a community church but a church that was reaching the North Georgia region.

As leaders we are told to fly 35,000 ft above the church to see the whole thing. I think that advice holds true for our communities. Today I flew about 2,000 ft above it and it changed my perspective.

Look out RSC, the vision that God is allowing to be birthed in me right now is going to rock your world…but you’ll have to wait until the first week in May when we start HELL NO to hear about it.

Today we are having a quick all staff meeting, havingour creative meeting, and then shooting video all afternoon!  We have some pretty funny stuff planned to start pushing our Easter series, I am excited.

We are also looking at making a couple of part-time hires and we are going to go outside our walls and that always freaks me out.  I’ll post the openings here soon so if you live in the ATL and are looking for a part-time gig reaching crazy people then we might be the place for you.

Invite, Invite, Invite!!!! 

We took Ashlyn and Avery to my parents on Wednesday and the weekend started!  It has been a long time since we didn’t have both kids for an entire weekend and we enjoyed it.

Thursday we went to the Unleash Conference with 40 other people from RSC and it was awesome.  Our people are freakishly pumped up right now!

Friday we laid around till noon doing nothing.  We then went to the mall and actually walked around without kids!!!!!!!  We went to an awesome dinner and just enjoyed the time together.

Saturday was awesome!

Today was awesome!  It was the first time in a couple of weeks I felt back in the groove teaching and I came after addictions HARD.  We had about 10 suitcases on stage full of different things and we talked about how we are so guilty of keeping our baggage zipped up and carrying it around with us but after a while it wears you out.  I talked about unzipping your baggage and one by one I unzipped the suitcases on stage.  One was full of credit cards, one full of junk food, one had a computer in it, one had a case of Budweiser, one had a bottle of Crown Royal, and one had a bag of weed in it.  The last suitcase had a female suitcase and childs suitcase in it and we talked about how our baggage affects those around us as well.  It was freaking awesome!

Now I am heading to DQ before DeAnna get back to watching what we eat tomorrow.

Well I guess we rebounded after laying some serious eggs last week.  This week I talked about addictions in our Baggage series and it was THICK up in there!  I thought the creative elements really hit home and it will be something people remember for a long time.

Good times…..

I can’t wait for tomorrow!!! We are in the second week of our series called Baggage and we are talking about a subject I am a FREAK about and that is the subject of addictions. I have a biological dad out there somewhere that is addicted to anything you can be addicted to and I have what I consider my real dad who has been a recovering addict for close to 25 years.

I have seen the affects of addictions and it is only be the grace of God that I am not one!

You are going to see some things on the stage tomorrow that you probably never thought you were going to see in church and I can promise you will remember the sermon by the time it is over.

Oh yeah, don’t be late! The band is going to kick if off during the countdown timer with a song that is going to set the tone for the entire service!!!!
