Holy smokes!!!!!!  Things are insane here but it is coming together FAST!!!!!  I thrive on this stuff and I love seeing our people making it happen!!!

Sunday is going to be FUN!

Pray for us Thursday!!!!!!

Monday, July 30th, 2007

We have a meeting withe head of Picken County Schools on Thursday at 8:30 a.m.  This meeting is HUGE for us in regards to our multi-site vision.  We need the High School and this is the man that can give us permission to rent it.

Pray that his heart is open to us meeting there.

Pray we can be a blessing to the school we meet in.

Pray we turn Jasper upside down with the message of Jesus Christ!

That is the ONLY way to describe the office today!!!!  Amy Young is the MAN….ur woman!  She is stepping up this week in big ways and going above and beyond to make Sunday happen.

Pray for us because we are in way over our head and I love it!

Pray for my old man….

My mom called and they had to take my dad to the ER for what might be the most gross, disgusting, disturbing thing I have ever heard of in my life.  I literally wanted to vomit when she was telling me on the phone.  Trust me, if you were a dude, you would have felt the same way.

I appreciate your prayers for him.

Tony McCollum Quote

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

I’ll say it again.  Sometimes, you’ve just got to break all the “rules” and go with what you think God is telling you to do.  AND, sometimes you bet the farm while you’re doing it.   This is, in fact, the norm for those that seek to follow a God that routinely does the impossible.

This quote has been rocking my world for the last week as we are moving to do something I have wanted to do for a while, but kept talking myself out of.  On Thursday, I finally shared it with out staff and they loved it.  So after MUCH prayer and MUCH counsel for and against, we are doing what many will not understand, but something I really feel led to do.

I don’t know what the result will be, but I can’t live with myself wondering “what if….”

Sunday Night Mind Dump

Sunday, July 29th, 2007
  • It was good to be home this week.  I love our church and I love our people!
  • I can’t wait until next Sunday.  We are making one of the biggest announcements in our church history.  It is going to be awesome!
  • We are crazy to try and pull this off in ONE week!
  • I am digging all the rain.  Great nap weather.
  • The church turns 3 next week. Seems like yesterday we started.
  • The crowd was GREAT today.
  • DeAnna told me she would see me in two weeks. :)  She knows I won’t be around much as we get ready for the change….
  • Home Teams start in two weeks.  Trust me and try one.  You’ll love it!
  • Our set-up/tear-down crews are amazing!
  • I have to put some bunk beds together.  Trust me, that is not good.  I am an idiot when it comes to putting stuff together.
  • John Mayer concert next week!!!!
  • Why do I get nervous when DeAnna is hanging out with this lady? :)
  • Year 4 is going to be huge.  I am believing it going to be our biggest year yet.  You can just feel it in the air.
  • My iPod play list is VERY odd right now.  Anything from Michael Buble to Daughtry to Goo Goo Dolls to Keith Urban to Allman Brothers to Akon.  Very odd mix.
  • I love that we are going multi-site.  We had a guy today want to know when we are launching in his town.  He’s got about a year to wait, but we will be coming there for our 3rd location.
  • The financial giving of our people for the month of July has been INSANE!  I love when our people step out on faith.
  • Tomorrow I am back to hitting the diet HARD!
  • Have I mentioned we have a huge announcement next week?
  • Blogging is awesome.  I love the friendships I have made with other pastors.  Facebook is stupid.  I just don’t get it.
  • My kids are growing up so fast.  I hate that.
  • Just found out we are probably doing Thanksgiving with DeAnna’s family this year.  That would be in New York.  DeAnna deserves it BUT I love Thanksgiving with my family.  I am not sure New York is ready for me. :)
  • I’ve got a multi-site pastors roundtable coming up.  Looking forward to it!
  • I can’t wait for our next THREE series.  We have some GREAT ideas and I think they are going to result in some huge life change.
  • Today looked like Summer was over.  A ton of people were back!
  • I’m rereading Andy Stanley’s book on communicating.  GREAT read.
  • I need some good music to come out.
  • I’m ready for football.
  • I can’t wait for the revolution to start….

AWESOME!!!!

Chilling on a Friday

Friday, July 27th, 2007

DeAnna took the kids for an overnight trip to Grandma’s for a fun day in the pool which means I am home alone and I am bored so that means I get to share a few thoughts with you.  Boy, aren’t you lucky. :)

  • I had sushi tonight.  Love that stuff.
  • I know Tony McCollum’s big announcement this week, but I can’t tell. :)
  • This next week is going to be insane.  We are making our own HUGE announcement next week and we have ONE week to pull it off!
  • We turn 3 next week and I can promise you that we will never be the same again.
  • I’m ready to be front of the home crowd this Sunday!
  • I’m ready to preach!
  • I love pastor friends.  I have had a ton of them give me GREAT advice in the last 24 hours.
  • The house is too quiet

Let the smack begin….

ESPN is doing a very cool thing ranking the top 119 programs in college football right now and my Dawgs are #11.  Not top 10 but I will take it for several reasons:

Tadd is bragging because UNC was ranked #67.  That is something to be proud of. :)

Perry is use to being behind the Dawgs and this was no exception.  They were #31.  Poor Tony has to root for a second rate team.

I don’t even want to bring up Jay, but I will. :)  South Carolina is #46.

It is ALMOST football time!

Wrestling match is over….

God wins.

Let’s just say the Revolution is about to begin in North Georgia.

More to come in two weeks at our 3 year anniversary.
