Sunday Night Mind Dump…
- Today was simply awesome!
- I enjoyed vacation but I am ready to get back to work. It is great to have a job you love.
- Didn’t make the annual family reunion on Saturday. Kids were dead tired from two weeks of traveling, we had a ton of stuff to do, and to be honest we really didn’t feel like going. Haven’t talked to my mom yet but she reads this blog and I can promise is NOT happy. Love ya mom!
- I think I am going to do a series of posts on pastors who have influenced me the most. Really more for my benefit then anyone, but I want our people to know who pours into my life and why I am as messed up as I am.
- I am VERY excited about preaching this coming Sunday. I got to go 4 times so I imagine I’ll be worn out Sunday night but I am very excited (more on this later).
- I hope to nail down our Jasper location by next week at the latest.
- I married way out of my league.
- We got a cat hanging around the house that won’t leave. I am about to shoot it. Yes, you read that right.
- Went to the office this morning and saw I had a name tag marking my office. Big time.
- I have been informed a few times over the last month about a person who has been really running me down in some VERY serious ways. I’ve ignored it and the comments his wife have made BUT I am about at my tipping point. I’m trying to take the high road but if I hear ONE more comment that comes from this person it will get ugly, quick. I feel confident he reads this blog so take that as your warning.
- On a more upbeat note: We are three Sunday from our 3rd anniversary!!!! It is going to be a PARTY!!!! I am very excited about celebrating what God has done at The Stone.
- I think I am going to change the name of Ridge Stone Church to simply The Stone. Okay, not really but I dig saying “The Stone.”
- I still am VERY confused by the whole Facebook thing. I seriously don’t get it. What is the point in it? I now have around 30 “friends” and I don’t see the point in it at all. Am I missing something? But it is up and it is free so I’ll go with it.
- I love seeing people get IT at church. It is so freaking awesome!!!!!
- Velvet Revolver has a new CD out. Might be the best “new” rock band out today. Of course everyone but the singer is from GnR and everytime I hear it, I think how much BETTER it would be have Axl singing on it. I hate Axl for ruining one of the best bands EVER.
- Had a great time hanging out with Bryan Mills last night. The dude is in a town of 4,000 people in Missouri and will be breaking 1,000 soon and is getting ready to launch their second location. I love people who have a passion for small towns!!!!
- Mike Linch is blogging. Mike is the pastor at North Star Church. I have talked to him through email and he seems like a great guy. North Star is knocking it out of the park!
- When do the Dawgs kick off spring practice?
- Pray for Steve Gibbs son. I still haven’t pieced everything together but his boy was in pretty bad shape and is still in the hospital.
- Almost got arrested last night. I’ll tell the story some time this week. Trust me, it is funny!
- It was awesome sharing the Lord’s Supper with our The Stone today.
- I have more yard work to do. Not cool.
- I am ready to get back to teaching EVERY week at The Stone. I have taken several Sundays off in June and July and I’ll be honest and say I needed them BUT I am ready to get back into a rhythm. I always hate it when someone else gets to speak to our people.
- We are pricing out our Jasper campus and I am convinced launching the first site is the most expensive. Buying the cameras and hardware to record the sermon is NOT cheap, but once it is bought you can do as many campuses as you want. Not counting the stuff to record the messages with, I think we can launch a campus for about $40,000 that will match up with any of the campuses we have seen so far.
- Lots of first time guests lately. It is summer and we have new faces every week! Fall is going to be insane.
- I think (I hope) we dealt with the last summer blockbuster today. Dang you Harry Poter.
- Things are CRAZY busy here right now.
- I’m ready for the fall. Seriously, I have had enough of the hotness of summer.
