My Fantasy Team…

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

We had our fantasy draft tonight and I hate my team.  I normally draft players I simply like and it has gotten me to the championship game the last two years.  This year I didn’t do that for some reason and I’m not happy at all.

Here is my team:

Drew Brees - QB

Reggie Bush - RB

Willie Parker - RB

Ahman Green - RB

Tatum Bell - RB

Lamont Jordan - RB

Larry Fitzgerald - WR

Hines Ward - WR

Calvin Johnson - WR

Mark Clayton - WR

Kelvin Winslow - TE

Dallas - Defense

I will have to drop someone because I don’t have a kicker but who cares about a kicker?

SUNDAY NIGHT MIND DUMP…

Sunday, August 26th, 2007
  • Preaching with DeAnna was a highlight in my ministry.
  • I thought she was awesome today!
  • We are doing it again next week!  We didn’t get anywhere near complete.  This week we laid a foundation for a healthy marriage, next week we talk SEX!
  • DeAnna getting a Standing O in both services was very cool and she deserved it!  She has made Revolution happen.
  • 10th row at Def Leppard last night!  By far the loudest concert I have EVER been too!  It was truly a fun night.
  • I hate my fantasy football team!
  • I’m a pastor’s roundtable this week for churches going multi-site and I can’t wait!
  • I’m running on about 4 hours sleep and I am too tired for a mind dump. :)

Quick Hits…

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

My blogging has sucked, I know.  I am so busy right now that I haven’t had time to do anything but just quick hits, so here you go with a few quick hits on a Saturday.

  • Ashlyn got her first bike today.  She bite the dust quick.  I loved watching her ride it.  She is growing up so quick.
  • I’m leaving in 30 minutes for Def Leppard, Styx, and Foreigner.  Yes, they are old, but I grew up on that music and I am going to have a freaking blast!!!
  • Mother-in Law is coming tonight so that is another reason to love going to a concert!! :)
  • I cut the grass today at 6 a.m.!!!!!  It was the only time it wasn’t hot.
  • The Varsity is on the menu tonight!!!!  2 chili chess dawgs, o-rings, and  P.C.  That is heaven on earth!
  • DeAnna and I are teaching tomorrow!!!!  She is going to do awesome and I think it is going to be an awesome day!
  • Revolution Fantasy Football draft is tomorrow night!  I pick 9th and I am not happy about that.  Best part of the draft is it is at Roly Alvarez’s house and he is making one of my favorite dishes.  I don’t know what it is but it is a Cuban rice thing and it is off the hook!!!
  • My back seems to be much better, but still a little sore.
  • Can’t wait to hear about Perry’s day tomorrow.  They are going to blow it out of the park!
  • Life is great!

Changing Things Up….

Friday, August 24th, 2007

The teaching isn’t the only thing that is going to be different this week, we are changing up the music as well.

We are totally changing up the musical vibe this week.  We’ve done this once before and people loved it.  It is going to be awesome!  Don’t be late because the band is coming out of the gate swinging from the first song!!!!

NEW website!!!

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Shout out to Factor 1 Studios!!!!

We decided to change our name THREE weeks ago, hired them TWO weeks ago and the website is 90% live and up on a hidden page waiting for us to add content!!!!!  Matt and crew there went above the call of duty and pulled the page out in a BIG time way.

A lot of times when you outsource different things it is hard for the person you are outsourcing the work with to understand exactly what you are thinking.  When I say Matt NAILED what we were looking for, I mean he NAILED it.  What we pictured in our mind is exactly what he pulled out.

If you are looking for some web work give these guys a look.  We have been blessed with two great companies doing webstuff for us in the last year.  Factor 1 and o2graphicdesign BOTH are awesome compaines.

Hopefully we will be fully live early next week and I can’t wait for you to see our new “look.”

For all of you who hate me…

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

This is your chance to kill me.  Seriously, just come by the office with a gun and shoot me.  All I ask is you make it quick.  I have done something to my back and I am in the worst pain of my life.  I literally think I would rather die then keep on in this pain.

So this is your opportunity.  I only have one life so it is first come, first serve.  See ya when you get here.

If you decide not to kill me, I would appreciate your prayers.  I really am in some big time pain.

Lunch with a Church Planter…

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

I have lunch tomorrow with David Anderson.  I haven’t met with a church planter since the last week in May.  I needed a break and I enjoyed it.  But I love church planters and I dig David so I am looking forward to getting back in the swing.  Planter always stretch me.

I am going to do a lot better job of not filling up my calendar, but I am going to take a couple of lunches a month.  The great thing is I don’t have to be the bad guy and tell you I don’t have time, Taylor picks who gets those dates. :)

YET another NEW blog

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Let me introduce you guys to Eddie Johnson.  Eddie started a church here in Canton at the same time we started Revolution.  I’ll be honest and say we allowed competitive natures to take over BIG TIME!  Not cool.

However about a 18 months of us both into our plants we realized we were on the same team and God brought us together as friends.  I remember when he called me and told me God had moved him to Nashville to plant another church as a North Point partner.  I remember feeling like I had lost a person I had went to war with.  It felt weird seeing him leave.

We’ve kept in touch and he emailed me today to tell me he has started a blog called Video Church Blog.  I think Eddie is going to give a no-holds barred look at what it takes to pull off “video church” every week.  It will be good.  Go check it out here.

VERY serious question…

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

I’m watching America’s Got Talent and David Hasselhoff is a judge and is now singing a song.  I know this guy is HUGE overseas, but he is almost like a cartoon character.

This is a serious question:  Does this guy really think he can sing or does he just know he is a joke and plays off of it?

I have never seen anything like that in my life!

Another Blog To Check Out…

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

I have been a Vince Antonucci fan since we started Revolution.  He is the pastor of Forefront and is probably one of the BEST churches in the country at actually reaching unchurched people.  I have learned from them from a distance and he is one of the guys I have wanted to hook up with for a while, but haven’t yet.

I found out today he started blogging so this is a site you WILL want to bookmark quick!  Check it out here.
