Back home….

DeAnna and I made it home.  How awesome to wake up, sit on the beach for a few hours, head home and be sitting here watching the Dawgs by 6:00 p.m.  I am surprised at just how tired I was before taking this trip.  I don’t think we realize how wore out we are at times and that is not a good thing.  Just a few days away with DeAnna and I feel as refreshed as I have felt in a long time.

It was so nice to not do anything, not to have any kids wake you up in the middle of the night, look at the beach, read some books, listen to some music, watch some TV, and just do nothing!!!!!!  These type of things keep me going and I think the biggest mistake married couples make is NOT making time to get away even for a few days and just enjoying each other.

I talked to some of the crew on the way home and it is so awesome how they took care of everything while I was gone.  We are launching a huge series tomorrow and they handled every detail while I was gone.  I love those guys.  Preston taught his first membership class Friday night and I heard he did a bang up job.  There is such a great vibe in the church right now that I can’t wait to see what God has up his sleeve.

I can’t wait to bring the message tomorrow.  I have shared the stage with my lovely bride the last two weeks and while that was fun, I am ready to bring the heat in the morning.  Our creative team is starting at 4:30 (yes, you read that right) tomorrow morning to get the stage set-up.  I know EVERY pastor says this about thier people, but I can honestly say I have never seen a group of volunteers who invest as much, put as much effort, and make things happen as much as our creative team.  They are so awesome and they go SO beyond the call of duty.  I can’t wait to see the set=up in the morning.

We got a fun surprise tomorrow and then I am teaching a message that I think it going to hit home with a lot of our people.

It is good to be home and I can’t wait for the morning!
