Halloween

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

It’s Halloween and I’m pumped because I love to see my kids have a GREAT time!  We are heading over to Great Sky Subdivision to hang with some people from church for dinner and then attacking all the awesome homes over there for candy.

I’m pumped!

Coach Richt

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Everyone is riding Coach Richt for the way Georgia ran on the field after their first TD on Saturday.  Coach Richt told them to get a penalty celebrating because he wanted to fire up the team.  I loved it!!!!

Coach Richt, I know you will NEVER read this blog but I thought the moved rocked!!!  It was awesome to see our guys play with some fire and it kept me glued to the TV the entire time.  I even had my 3 year old son screaming at the TV as the game was going on.  It was a GREAT day and I would love to see you do something like that every week!

Get off Coach Richt’s back.  The dude is the real deal and is sold out to Christ.  He isn’t a jerk and was just trying to fire his team up.  I loved it.

She HAS lost her mind…

Monday, October 29th, 2007

I have shared over and over on this blog the amish ways of my wife, DeAnna.  Well, tonight she crossed the line and has proven she has lost her mind.  We are in a huge drought here in Georgia.  It is so bad that you can water the lawns, wash cars, etc.  The Governor has asked everyone to cut water usage by 10%.

So tonight while I am in the shower, she opens the door to shower and tells me she has figured out a way to save water.  So I am thinking she is about to join me in the shower and I am suddenly digging this save the water thing.  But instead of joining me she hands me a bucket and tells me to put on the floor of the shower to catch the water so SHE CAN WATER HER PLANTS!!!!!!

Are you kidding me????  The should do a reality show on our marriage.  It could be called “The Redneck Pastor and His Amish Wife.”

Restaurant Follow-up

Got an email saying off of exit 19 we are getting a  Chili’s, Steak and Shake, and a Taco Mac!!  Plus we are getting a  Target (about time).  Needless to say, I am excited.  Now, I need to talk to my source about the Panera Bread and a Krispy Kreme. :)

BTW, I am taking all the credit for these places coming.  Even though they have been planned forever, I never knew about them until I posted it on my blog. So I think it was my blog that caused them to come. :)

GREAT meeting today!!!!

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Thanks for the prayers concerning our meeting this morning.  It could not have went better.  We have a few things to check out on our end to see if we can make it happen and we will decide to act on the possibility by the end of the week. If you are wondering what I am speaking about then you’ll just have to wait until November 11th to find out.

On a totally unrelated note, it also appears we will sign a contract on a Jasper location this week as well.  Can’t tell you where yet, but if it works out you will find out on November 11th.

God is doing big things at Revolution and things are about to get very interesting….

ANOTHER Typical day at Revolution…

Photo 10

Today, we were all at a meeting we had scheduled when Tim basically hunched over in pain, telling us we had to get him to the ER now. Sadly, it took us a few minutes to figure out he was serious. On the way to the hospital, we got pulled over by a cop and I honestly thought Tim was going to kill the officer. He was screaming at Malcolm to just go and not stop and then he went semi-crazy on the officer. The officer followed us to the ER and did not give us a ticket, but Tim was in pain.

Upon entering the hospital, Tim was saying words I had never heard of (and that is saying something) and was in major pain. I feel bad because we were all just laughing.

He entered the room and when giving a sample of urine, a pretty large black rock came out. Kidney stones. When asked on a scale of 1-10 his pain level, he said something I couldn’t understand, followed by a pain level of “57.”

He is still at the ER now and they assume many more will be passing. Not cool. I have a picture of the stone but can’t decide if that is crossing the line to post a picture of a urine filled cup with a black rock in it.

So until I can decide if I am going to post the other picture, you will have to enjoy the one I just posted of Tim screaming out in pain as the doctors work on him.

I’m sure he appreciates your prayers.

Sunday Night Mind Dump…

Sunday, October 28th, 2007
  • Preached on giving today. I am a giver and I believe 100% in the principle so preaching on the subject is something I look forward too.
  • If people could understand the principle of giving, it would change their lives.
  • Today was an awesome day!!!!!!!!!!
  • We gave out the book “The Blessed Life” today and I believe it is a life changing book IF you will read it and apply the principles.
  • We ran out of The Blessed Life but I promise we will have more next week for you. GET this book!!!!
  • How God allowed us to get those books was amazing.
  • How bout them dawgs!!!!
  • People were so excited about our volunteer party. I am glad, they deserved the night.
  • I said I needed to get up to New Spring a few weeks ago, but somehow DeAnna beat me. She is up there tonight checking out their kids area with Jenna.
  • Our kids area had a live band today. I heard the kids loved it!!!!
  • I might win a fantasy game today. Maybe.
  • Does anyone care about the World Series?
  • Just to set the record straight, yes, I did get lost in the corn maze on Friday.
  • Yes, I was also started to freak out.
  • I am amazed at what a low priority church is to most Christians.
  • God blessed me with some winter riding gear today. Very cool.
  • Got a very important meeting tomorrow concerning Revolution Canton. Your prayers are appreciated.
  • Doing the leg work on a possible Jasper location. Hopefully will know something this week.
  • Tim lead worship with a totally busted mouth today. I kicked his butt. :) Actually, he got his butt kicked playing flag football yesterday. He’s old.
  • Saw a Christmas commercial today. Stupid.
  • I have spent the entire day with Ashlyn and Avery and we had a blast. I love my kids.
  • The kids and I formed a band today called “Sally Plays The Piano.” Not sure who Sally is but we pretty much rock. :)
  • Did I mention the Dawgs? We are back in the top 10 where we belong.
  • Threw my first pair of pants away for being too big. Only about 20 more pant sizes to go.
  • Wow, the Patriots are awesome.  The actually cold go undefeated.
  • Kids are crazy.  Avery (he’s 3) ate a jelly and cheese sandwich tonight.
  • Remember to pray for us as you arrive at work tomorrow.  I am excited about the meeting we have at 9.  If you were at our volunteer party then you know what it is about.  If you weren’t there, you might find out on November 11th if everything works.
  • There are only a few spots left for our 1 p.m. seminar with Joe Sangl for next Sunday.  Call the office or e-mail Preston to sign up.

PERFECT WEEKEND

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

This has been the perfect weekend!

Yesterday, I got to hang out with the family.  We went to the Waffle House for lunch (my kids love that place), went down to the mall, then last night I got to hang out with my favorite people at Revolution, the ones who volunteer!!!  The feedback from last night has been off the hook!!!  Preston did a great job putting that together!!!!!

Today, we took the kids to Home Depot and made spiders, went back down to the mall, ate at Steak and Shake, watched the Dawgs win, and now DeAnna is making a Starbucks run for a Pumpkin Latte.  It isn’t manly but it is good!!!!

Of course, tomorrow is Sunday and I can’t wait to bring the heat as we continue our financial series.  I am going to give you some truth that sadly very few people are listening too.  Most pastors are afraid of preaching what we are teaching tomorrow, but I can’t wait and I look forward to it!  Plus we have a gift for you tomorrow that I honestly can be life changing for you.

GREAT weekend!

42-30!!!!!!!!!!

To all the doubters out there all I can say is I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!

FINALLY, Georgia showed some fire!!!  Coming out on the first TD with the whole team on the field!!!!!!  That is what I am talking about!!!

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!

5 Restaurants Canton Needs…

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

I saw this on someone elses blog recently and it got me thinking about what restaurants Canton needs.  Things are getting better in Canton but we still only have a few places to eat at on a regular basis.

So if I was in charge on bringing restaurants to Canton, here is what I would bring:

  1. Chilis - Hands down, my favorite place to eat is Chili’s.  They have the best fajitas around and the best chips and salsa.  I love it and don’t understand why we don’t have one.  This is another reason I hate Cartersville.  They got one before we got one.  I do hear a little rumor that it is coming.
  2. Panera Bread - There isn’t a good place in Canton for breakfast unless you want a full course country breakfast (which I am not knocking), but we need a place like Panera where you can grab a cup of coffee, muffin, and have a meeting with someone without feeling like you are being rushed out the door.  Plus they have the best chicken salad around.
  3. Steak and Shake - LOVE their burgers and love their shakes.  Nothing else to add.  We need one.
  4. Taco Mac - Good food and cover bands.  What is not to love???  I hear one is coming off of exit 19.  That is a good thing.
  5. Krispy Kreme - We need one of these real bad!  If you have never had a hot Krispy Kreme, you have not lived.  The got a pretty good cup of coffee as well.

Canton does NOT need another Waffle House (with all due respect to Kid Rock), mexican place, pizza place, or chinese place.  I think we got those covered pretty well.

Really no point in this post but I am sick of eating at the same places all the time.
