GREAT Reminder

Revolution Church — Gary on December 11, 2007 at 11:37 am

For about the last year, we have had armed security at all of our services.  We meet in a public place, we do church in a way people don’t like, and we have a lot of critics.  For us it was a no-brainer to have security in our kids area, lobby, worship center, and close to me every week.  Believe it or not, I have heard several times from people outside of our church that this is another reason we are a cult and we have been bashed several times for this.

Well, this story is a GREAT reminder of WHY we have security.  It only takes one idiot to walk in and a lot of damage be done.  The time to be prepared for these things is NOT after something happens, but before.

If you work on our security team, I want to personally say thank you.  On a normal Sunday it is probably not the most exciting job, BUT I pray it never becomes exciting for you.  I hope every Sunday is calm as can be, but I am glad you guys are prepared, trained, and willing to serve in that area.

There are a some things that others will bash or make fun of you for that you really could care less about.  Having security on Sundays is one of those things.  I’m thankful for the guys who are making sure everything is safe on Sundays.
