“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” - Isaiah 54:2

That was my verse towards the end of 2007.  That is the verse I kept having brought back to me over and over right about the time we changed our name to Revolution Church.  Many people thought we were dumb to change our name, there was no point in changing our name, and that we were doing it just to create a buzz.  None of that was true.  We changed our name because we felt like God HAD ALREADY changed the DNA of our church from when we launched 3 years ago.

Changing our name was just the official acknowledgement of a change that had already taken place.  We changed more in the fall of 2007 than at any other time.  We lost more people who decided the vision wasn’t for them, we gained more people than anytime in our history, we moved all of our staff to new roles that fit their gift mix, we lost some staff towards the end of the year, we added some GREAT staff that makes us better than ever, we started impacting our community, and all of that was God working to lengthen our cords and strengthen our stakes.

I believe 2007 was the year we beame the church that God intended for us to be.  I can’t remember a time we were so healthy, there was such a natural buzz, our staff was so unified, etc.  2007 was the hardest year of our history, but hands down, it was the greatest year.

We enter into 2008 ready to build on all that God has done at the end of 2007 and to transform North Georgia with the message of Jesus Christ.

It’s going to be a fun year!!!!
