Awesome Sunday!!!!
Yesterday was one of those Sundays that remind me of why we do what we do. It was very in your face and I am sure some people thought I crossed the line, but it was a needed message. I actually had someone after the service ask me if I was trying to stop the church from growing with that message.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The last time I taught about the vision of Revolution was the second week in August. That was 5 months ago. Since that time we have grown by about 300 people on Sunday mornings. There are a lot of new people and that is great! However, we don’t grow at Revolution just to grow. We have a vision to reach those far from God so that leaves us open to only two types of people: 1.) Those far from God. 2.) Believers that want to do whatever it takes to reach those far from God.
It was not my desire to run anyone off yesterday, but if someone chooses we aren’t the church for them after yesterday, that is fine. Will we lose a couple of people? I am sure. However, we will also have a ton of people who left yesterday and finally understand why we do what we do and will bring in their friends to be part of it. That is what it is about.
I thought the band was INCREDIBLE yesterday. I tell people all the time we have one of the best bands I have ever heard and I stand by that. I had two different church planters yesterday talk about the band and how great they are. We are blessed in that area!
I heard there were some GREAT steps taken in the children’s area yesterday. We are just getting started. The funniest thing from yesterday was our preschool area. We had a church planter who had a not so great experience and then we have a church planter who emailed and said it was one of the best areas they had ever seen and our people were over the top in helping out. We are making huge upgrades in that area as well.
Days like yesterday must make me proud to pastor Revolution. We have some of the most incredible people I have ever done church with. Sunday was hardcore, but God is going to use it to do great things!
