I guess we’re stuck with him :)
Thad just sold his house! We tried our best to run him off and warn him before he sold his house, but we had no luck. NOW, he has to get a tattoo with the rest of the crew!

One of the questions I get asked a lot about from other church planters is about our use of consultants. We have used consultants almost since day one at Revolution. We are always looking for people to evaluate what we are doing, offer their expertise, and give us solutions for improving every area of our church.
I can’t remember all of the various consultants we have brought in but a few of the areas we have used them in include Media (sound, light, video), General Church, Children’s, Production, and Marketing. We have had MANY great experiences with consultants, a couple of bad ones, and one just plain weird one.
I HIGHLY recommend consultants no matter what size your church is but I think we are a lot better prepared today to bring one in then we were when we started bringing them in because we have learned a lot in the process. Since so many of you ask, I thought I would share with you what we have learned.
I could go on and on but those are the first things that popped into my head. Hope it helps.
I had a great couple in the church give me tickets to the Braves game tonight so we loaded the kids up and headed to the ATL. I am not a big baseball fan but I have the best time taking my kids down there. They have a blast and there is just something “all-american” about eating a crappy hot dog, cracking peanuts and watching baseball with the family.
It was nice to get away for a few hours.
They had the road closed we normally take into the stadium so I got a little lost and we got a nice drive through Atlanta and I was shocked at how messed it is from the storms. I can’t imagine what it was like to be down there when they hit. The place was looking rough.

Craig Groeschel and the guys over at LifeChurch.tv have put together a pretty cool thing for the Body of Christ in the month of June. I am not going to go into the details but you can check it out here.
Basically, churches all over the world are joining together to do the same series at the same time. Lead/Senior Pastors will teach the first week of the message of the series at their church and the next three weeks will show videos of some of the greatest communicators in America sharing their “one prayer” for the church. Along with the messages, we will be mobilizing Revolution to partner with other area churches for the purpose of community outreach and world missions. It is going to be awesome.
For us at Revolution it is extra special because we will have the three men who make up our Board of Overseers teaching for us. I will kick the series off, Steven Furtick will be bringing the heat the second week, my friend Greg Rohlinger is actually going to try to fly down and preach the third message for us live (if he can’t make it, it will be on video), and we will finish off the series with Perry Noble. What an awesome opportunity for the three men who have a vested interest in Revolution to be able to teach to our people as we join with hundreds of other churches all across the world! It is going to be a powerful series!
We will also be pre-producing a sermon on video for other churches to use. We have already gotten several e-mails from churches asking if we would be doing this and my staff informed me we would. :) I already know what my one prayer for the church is, so if you are interested in using our message, it will be on the One Prayer website sometime in May.
I’m excited about this opportunity for our church to be part of something so much bigger than us!!! Revolution, this is going to be a powerful, awesome, and life-changing series!!!
I am alive and I came into the office today to see this hanging on my wall as a birthday gift from our staff! It is a signed Herschel Walker jersey!!! It rocks! My birthday isn’t until tomorrow, but this is the greatest gift ever! On top of the rocking jersey, there is a HUGE cookie cake, which is my favorite!
Well, I avoided the funk until this morning. I woke up not feeling well, got ready for work, headed out the door, and turned around puking my guts out! It is now 1:30 p.m. and I just woke up. I feel like I have been hit with a Mack Truck and it sucks.
Prayers appreciated!
