Tonight is the big game.  In my own mind, it is the National Championship game.  Georgia was #4 going into the last week of the season.   Two teams in front of us lost so we should be #2.  Hawaii hasn’t lost so they should be #1.  So, consider this the real national championship.

Unlike Perry’s Clemson Tigers, and unlike Chris Elrod’s Gators, we won’t choke.

Georgia by 21 tonight.

How do I know it is New Years Day?  Because DeAnna has collard greens cooking (for money in 2008), black-eyed peas cooking (for luck in 2008), a Honey Baked Ham in the fridge (just because you need some type of meat), Mac and Cheese cooking (just because it tastes good), and the Dawgs are playing tonight in the Sugar  Bowl (where they belong).

That is what I call starting the year off right!

Georgia should be in the National Championship game. When 1 and 2 lose, 3 and 4 should move up. It is that simple.

However, we’ll just be secure knowing we are the best team playing right now.

Tennessee becomes my most hated team. The screwed us 3 times this year. The beat us, they won out when they sould have lost, sending them to the SEC championship game, THEN the sucked the SEC championship game up and lost that. Tennessee you suck!

EDIT: Hey Tommy Tuberville, kiss my butt!!! I just saw how you voted here and you put us at #5?????????? You put Hawaii ahead of us? You must have forgot that butt kicking we gave Auburn when you guys came between the hedges this year. You jerk. I hope Clemson kicks you teeth down your throat in the Peach Bowl.

EDIT 2: We fell a spot?????  Give me a freaking  break.  How did V. Tech move ahead of us?  The wouldn’t have finished .500 in the SEC.  Did the voters forget we kicked the crap out of them last year in the bowl game?  Also they leap frogged Oklahoma? Oklahoma just beat the #1 team in the nation!  The BCS is crap.  Bring on the Rainbows.

The Dawgs whipped Tech.  Sadly, it has become so common that it really isn’t that big of a deal.

We are now #4 in the nation.

This week I am rooting for Oklahoma to beat Missouri, which could very well happen.

I am also rooting for Pitt to beat West Virgina.  That one is a stretch but stranger things have happened.

If those two things happen, we should be in the National Championship game!!!!

We are the best team in the SEC, but we blew it against South Carolina (how did that happen?) and The Volunteers.  We have no one to blame but ourselves.

Spent the day in Athens between the hedges.  I love college towns and Athens is one of the best!!!  I honestly had a blast today just hanging out with Adam, tailgating, watching people, and cheering on the Dawgs!!!  It was a great game and after a slow start, we looked GREAT!!!!

On the way home we listened as Vandy BLEW it against the Volunteers.  I was furious but we still have a chance next week as they play Kentucky.

Currently Georgia is #9 in the rankings. But here is how we are going to make the BCS championship game.

2 Oregon lost last night…

8 Arizona State loses to USC tomorrow…

7 Ohio State loses at Michigan tomorrow …

6 West Virginia loses at #22 Cincinnati tomorrow

Come Sunday, UGA is up to #5.

Now, #3 Oklahoma, #4 Kansas & #5 Missouri still have to play each other in a round-robin…

KU & Missouri play next week…

The winner plays Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship. In other words, two of the three teams will be eliminated.

UT loses this week or next, meaning UGA can sneak into the SEC Championship and play #1 LSU, winner will play in the BCS Championship against Big 12 Champion.

So there you have it. Georgia will be the National Champions this year!!!!!

Black Jerseys….THAT just happened!

Georgia/Auburn is today!!!! The seniors are calling for a “black out” meaning they want everyone to wear black to the game today to “black out” the stadium. I dig it. Richt swears the players aren’t wearing black jerseys but that would be awesome if they came out in them. I’m not counting on it, but I do think it would be sweet.

Georgia wins by 14 today.

Okay, not really, but there are some great takeaways on leadership for planters from this article on Coach  Richt.

Everyone is riding Coach Richt for the way Georgia ran on the field after their first TD on Saturday.  Coach Richt told them to get a penalty celebrating because he wanted to fire up the team.  I loved it!!!!

Coach Richt, I know you will NEVER read this blog but I thought the moved rocked!!!  It was awesome to see our guys play with some fire and it kept me glued to the TV the entire time.  I even had my 3 year old son screaming at the TV as the game was going on.  It was a GREAT day and I would love to see you do something like that every week!

Get off Coach Richt’s back.  The dude is the real deal and is sold out to Christ.  He isn’t a jerk and was just trying to fire his team up.  I loved it.
