  • Another Awesome Day!
  • Choir at the end of the service! Very Powerful!
  • ROUGH morning before the service.  LOTS of problems and lots of stress but our awesome team pulled it out.
  • I was on empty today.  Very little sleep last night and it started affecting me in the service.
  • I felt very mean today.  I’ve got to learn how to communicate in a serious way without coming across as angry. :)
  • We started a new ministry today called…. Well, you’ll have to listen to the podcast for what it is about and what it is called but let’s just say it involves baseball bats and knocking dudes around.  Lots of people interested in signing up.
  • Signed up for Twitter. Not sure about it but could see how it would be more effective on my small stuff instead of using my blog for it. I will figure out how to get Twitter to post on the side of my blog. Any ideas on that Matt?
  • You can check my out on Twitter here.
  • What is twitter? Check out this short video.
  • Just Curious: Why do most charismatic preachers use hand-held mics? Don’t they know there are wireless mics you don’t have to hold?  Always kills me when I see that on TV.
  • Took a 4 hour a nap today which means I won’t be able to sleep tonight.
  • This series is literally wearing me out.  The issues are so hard hitting and the stakes are so high that it wears me out physically, spiritually, and emotionally preparing and teaching them.
  • One Prayer taping this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the warehouse.  Be there or be square.
  • Family Fun Day Sunday at the Lamb house lead us to the park today.  It was HOT!
  • Still loving Sixx: AM on my iTunes.  I think this CD is one of the  best I have heard in a long time.
  • Hawks stunk it up today but I am proud of them for showing some game.  But does anyone really care about basketball anyway?
  • Attendance was insane again in the second service.  Place was packed.
  • BUSY week.
  • LOVED seeing the motorcycles all out front today in the parking we created for them.  VERY cool.
  • Did I see a Scrap Booking Interest Group in the lobby today?  CRAZY and there were a TON of people signed up for it as well.  Awesome.
  • I love summer!
  • Read The Heroin Dairies by Nikki Sixx in one day.  INSANE book, I mean INSANE!
  • Gas prices are killing me.
  • Lots to do this week, but I am loving it all right now.
  • We have a lot of hurting people right now and I hate to see that, but glad we can be there for them.
  • Lots of new tattoos at church the last two weeks.  I like it.
  • I’m going to veg out.

Sunday Night Mind Dump

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Internet was down at the house all night so I wrote this last night, but I’m posting it on Monday.

  • AWESOME service today! GREAT way to kick off Prison Break.
  • Possibly one of the most powerful services we have ever had.
  • It was raining and we were still packed out. We just keep breaking attendance records.
  • I had been stewing on today’s message for a while and felt like it connected with a bunch of people.
  • My prayer is some people wake up in the morning without their past hanging over their head as it has for a long time
  • The best way to cast the vision of Revolution is the way we did today. I can talk about it all day long, but seeing Swift share his story and then perform his original song about how God has changed him was very very very cool.
  • To be able to pass out a CD with his song on it at the end of the service was icing on the cake.
  • If you weren’t at church today and didn’t get a copy of the music CD, you should have been there. It was a one week deal.
  • Next week we are tackling the issue of addictions and I think it is going to be as powerful as today was.
  • This week we are working HARD to close a deal that will give us some more space for worship. We should know something by Wednesday or Thursday so be praying HARD!
  • To me it is funny how God does what He wants to do. I make plans and He loves to shoot those down and do His own thing. That is cool with me.
  • Don’t forget we are filming our sermon for One Prayer this Thursday at The Warehouse at 7:00 p.m. You are more than welcome to join us. Matter of fact we would love for you to join us!
  • Bon Jovi and Daughtry concert this week. I’m looking forward to it, but DeAnna is REALLY looking forward to it. She would leave me for Jon Bon Jovi. Not cool.
  • I want another tattoo BAD. I figure I might as well go ahead and sleeve me right leg so that gives me about 2 more good size tattoos and some fill in stuff. I want to do something that shows my commitment to my marriage. I know far to many pastors who have zipper problems and I want a reminder not to blow it. I want the other one to be centered around THE revolutionary. We’ll see…
  • I’m at the office working on next week’s message. There are times when you preparing a message you are just inspired and right now is one of those times!
  • NFL Draft was decent. Not sure about the Falcon’s picks. Time will tell.
  • We’ve got some great leads on worship leaders coming in to lead worship for us over the next few months. Know for sure we are bringing these two cats in: Josh Bayne and Kyle O’Neal.
  • Heard Josh hates the song Beautiful Jesus so that is big time bonus points for me.
  • If things happen this week like we hope, we will have to bring on a full-time worship leader no later than the fall. We might even need two. :)
  • I heard a rumor that our old friend Ryan Fitzgerald is coming to help with our video shoot on Thursday. We tried to hire Ryan once and he turned us down. The fact that I still consider him a friend shows you how highly I think of him. :) Look forward to seeing him.
  • Listening to Sixx: AM and their CD “The Heroin Diaries.” WOW! Powerful stuff. Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue started this band and this is basically his life story. GREAT stuff, Great lyrics, Great music, Great sound. Check out their myspace to hear a little of their stuff.
  • Had a friend fall off the wagon today. Nothing makes me madder.
  • I think it is funny that you won’t hear from people for months and in some cases you weren’t close to them in the first place, but when they are trying to raise money you suddenly get a letter in the mail. I better move on…..
  • It is amazing all that hear.  You would think as we get bigger, I wouldn’t still hear everything, but I do.
  • I am not able to post to my blog at the office. Not sure why. It will let me get on, write the post, but when I hit “publish” it times out. I take my computer home and it works fine. Any ideas?
  • I’m out.

  • GREAT DAY TODAY!
  • I enjoyed being back on stage teaching!
  • I am still on Vegas time. I came out during the first service like a bat out of hell and crashed like crazy during the second service.
  • First service has turned into a service that will preach the mess out of you. They clap and amen to everything. I love it!
  • Enjoyed having Joel leading worship today, they did a GREAT job and I love Joel, but I have to admit I am partial to Tim and Thad when it comes to leading worship at Revolution.
  • Rock Star was a GREAT series, but I am glad it is over and I am ready to start Prison Break next week!
  • Prison Break is going to be a series where a lot of people deal with some issues that have been holding them back from being all that God wants them to be
  • I have been out of town this past two weeks and I am supposed to be out of town this week but I’m not going to make it due to some things that have popped up.
  • Tomorrow we start implementing the things we discussed on our staff retreat. It is going to make us so much more effective, but I have learned that any transition is difficult and these changes will be the most uncomfortable for me personally
  • I have sat around the office today thinking about our staff and evaluating the job they do. They are far from perfect, but Revolution is blessed to have them serving here.
  • Not only is Revolution blessed, but I am blessed to have a crew that is talented, loyal, and has total buy-in on our vision.
  • I know this sounds weird, but I don’t think I have ever had a more team bonding time then last week when Adam, Preston, Tim and I all got tattoos together. It is something I will always remember. If that isn’t a sign of brotherhood, commitment, and even a little stupidity, I don’t know what is. :)
  • I find it funny that I have had several emails from people lecturing me about getting a tattoo. Listen, it isn’t that big of a deal. You live life once. Trust me, it is fine.
  • Thad and Jill put an offer in on a house. Guess we are stuck with them and I couldn’t be happier. They are going to do great things at Revolution…..even if Thad doesn’t have a tattoo. :) They are an awesome couple and they are going to do great things at Revolution.
  • I keep getting asked about us launching a campus in Jasper. Here is the deal: We ARE committed to reaching Jasper. We are sold out to reaching Jasper. We are going to rock Jasper with the message of Jesus Christ. When God opens the door for us to go there, we are ready. At this time that door has not opened.
  • There is a possibility that a door could be opening in Hickory Flat though……
  • What about buying land? If that door opens we will walk through it, but if it takes land to grow a church your vision is wrong. I’ll let the other guys in town spend their time looking for land. We’ll stick with reaching people.
  • What about building out a warehouse? Again, I would love a warehouse just like I would love land, but that door isn’t open at this time. If it opens, I’ll be the first one through it.
  • Looks like we are going to be looking for a worship intern this summer to come in some during the week and on Sundays. I’ll post more this week about what we are looking for, but if you are interested contact Tim at tim@therevolution.tv
  • We are also looking at worship leaders who want to come in on Sunday mornings and lead worship. We’ll be hiring another worship leader in the late fall/early winter and we are going to use the next several months to really look for the right fit. We are looking for a guy who loves Jesus, who can rock, who can lead people in worship and wants to be part of Revolution, not just lead worship anywhere he gets the chance. Interested in leading at Revolution, contact Tim and he will see if you pass the test. :)
  • Watched the movie Walk The Line AGAIN last night. Love Johnny Cash.
  • Now I am at the office listening to Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison. Charlie, that would make a good Sunday Night Unwind for you. :)
  • I’m ready to go back to Vegas….this time with DeAnna.
  • Back on the bike this week. I want to get in some pretty good miles. Might shoot for 100, but not sure if I can handle that many miles or find the time to get them all in.
  • Tim is taking a lot of new things on his plate here at Revolution and I love it! Tim is a great leader and about as loyal and sold out to Revolution as you can be. He is going to be taking a lot of stuff of my plate. The only negative about it is he isn’t going to be able to take the new stuff on and still lead worship every week. Don’t worry though because he’ll still be leading on a very regular basis.
  • THANK YOU to all of you who moved to the first service today! We had a very good crowd in the first service which was good because we were still about 80% full in the second service.
  • We are going to be adding a THIRD service very soon in ANOTHER theater which means double the set-up. What amazes me about that is I haven’t heard ONE compliant from our people. Instead I see our volunteers all talking with each other about how to make it happen. It honestly overwhelms me how much they get IT. Amazing.
  • Sunday nights are turning into Family Night at the Lamb house.  Tonight after I leave the house it is pizza and The Bee Movie.  Should be fun.
  • I’m heading home so time to wrap this thing up!

  • I didn’t preach today!!!
  • Man, I needed the break!!!!
  • Preston was awesome!!!!
  • First week of Spring Break and our second highest attendance of the year. The place was packed!
  • I went to check out Freedom Church in Acworth. GREAT job by JR and the guys there. They are 10 weeks old and it brought some back some huge memories.
  • Got back to Revolution at the end of the second service and just hung out with our people for a few minutes. Love our people!
  • First time in a LONG time I got to hang out with some of our people and just talk without worrying about teaching that morning. Very nice.
  • It was weird not being at Revolution all morning.
  • Our Lead Team is headed up to Elevation Church tomorrow around lunch. We are hanging out with them on Tuesday. REALLY looking forward to this!
  • Adam and I are headed to New Spring on Wednesday to sit in on their creative meeting. Should be awesome!
  • Tomorrow night I get to introduce our staff to one of my favorite people, Jimmy Britt. We are going to hook up in NC for dinner. Love that dude!
  • Pumped up about being part of One Prayer in June! This is going to be a huge thing for Revolution as we partner with churches all over the world!
  • We are going to hook up with some community projects during One Prayer with my friend Ross Wiseman and the guys at Embassy Metro in Woodstock! I’ve known Ross since before they launched but we seem to have really connected this year. Excited about what God is doing through these guys and MORE excited about partnering with another church in the county to reach this area!
  • Anyone who knows me knows I am NOT the most humble guy but I TRULY am shocked and humbled at how many churches have contacted us wanting to make sure we are pre-producing a sermon on video for them to use during One Prayer. We are going to have a sermon on the site available for you to download to use if you are crazy enough to use it.
  • NO, I will not cuss in the video (have gotten that question a lot as well). :)
  • Can’t wait for Prison Break to begin!!!!! We did Rock Star working along with Tadd, and we are doing Prison Break working along Dave Anderson.
  • Between us working with others on teaching series, us partnering with Embassy Metro for One Prayer, and us helping out church plants on a constant basis, I guess that our critics will just have to find another rumor to complain about in regards to us. The one about us hating other churches just doesn’t seem to be true. :)
  • Haven’t decided what we are naming our message yet, but it will be on my passion: reaching the unchurched in our communities.
  • In the next three weeks I will travel to North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Nevada, and back to North Carolina. Not good for someone who hates to travel!
  • We had a group go to Celebrate Recovery training yesterday. Very excited about that!
  • Took the kids to see Horton Hears A Who on Friday. They loved it and I got to admit, it was good as well.
  • I need an extra $130,000 at Revolution. I have 3 hires I want to make by the end of the year. Pray with me about that.
  • I have stepped up my prayer about someone giving Revolution a house. I want to be able to house interns and church planters for free and let them be part of what God is doing here without worrying about rent. If you got a house you want to give, dial me up (I promise you’ll get through).
  • Favorite band right now: 3 Doors Down. Love these guys and think they are very underrated. New CD comes out next month!
  • I can’t help but laugh at the musicians that God sends us. Most church bands are full of skinny dudes who wear women pants and they would make hot chicks. Our guys look more like they would cut your heart out with a rusty butter knife. We are THE bar band church and I love it. Wait to you hear the new vocalist who has been checking us out. The dude can wail!
  • I won the NCAA basketball pool at the office. A little spending money is always awesome!
  • Went riding with about 5 or 6 people today including DeAnna! She’s a beast.
  • Tons of people over for dinner tonight.  I am anti-social so I wasn’t digging it. DeAnna loved it.
  • I’m going to bed.

  • GREAT day today!!!!
  • Loving the vibe in the church right now!
  • Loving the Rock Star series!!!!!!
  • The Band was as good as I have ever heard them today!
  • It was cool seeing Harvey back on guitar today! I miss that dude.
  • It was nice not having spring break the week after Easter. That is a first for us!
  • We are going to add a third service this fall if we can hold out. We will have to do it in another theater and stagger start times. Probably 9:00, 9:45 (in another theater), and 10:30. The band will leave the stage, go to the next theater and start the next service while I am preaching in the first, and on and on. Sound crazy? I am sure it is but I refuse to allow space to stop us from growing. When a service is 75% full it stops growing and we have been that way in our second service for a while.
  • We MIGHT even change the worship style for the middle service. Still praying through that one. If we changed it, it would probably be an unplugged worship set and the first and last service would stay like they are now.
  • TONS of new people around Revolution!
  • Today was as close as I have ever come to not preaching right before the service. I didn’t think I was going to make it, but God brought me through.
  • I took a 4 hour nap when I got home.
  • I am in the cycling mode right now!
  • The band was insane today!
  • Thad had the student service rocking tonight. GREAT start!
  • I’m in sushi mode right now!
  • Can’t believe we are tackling Revelation next week. Jesus is coming back and we’re going to show what He is going to do when he gets back! Should be fun!
  • Multi-site Exposed Conference in Seattle is in two weeks!!! Looking forward to heading up there with our Lead Team.
  • Rumor has it our Lead Team is getting matching Tattoos. Everyone seems game but Thad who is scared of what Jill will do to him. What a wuss. :)
  • I think I am going to go check out West Ridge Church when I have a Sunday off. Haven’t been to a Sunday service since they moved into their new building.
  • I am LOVING watching the leader that Adam is becoming. I love the dude, trust the dude, and seeing him take his leadership to the next level is cool.
  • I know Ben’s new job. No, I am not telling.
  • We have a TON of school teachers at Revolution and I know they are ready for this week to be over and for spring break to start! They need the break and they deserve the break!
  • God is doing some cool things at Revolution in us reaching different races. The fact is that Canton is 95% anglo, but that is quickly changing and I am glad that Revolution is reflecting that change.
  • I actually had an area pastor “warn” me when we started the church about being careful about allowing “to many black people” in our church because he said Canton people wouldn’t like that. What an idiot. I guess those people won’t like Heaven either.
  • Thought of the week: “Those who can, do. Those who can’t, tell others how to do it”
  • A pastor I use to talk to quite often and really respected left his church three weeks ago with another women in the church. This week I found out he has started a consulting and coaching business for churches. Are you FREAKING kidding me??? Who would hire this guy? If you do, you should be shot.
  • This guy must not have crazy friends like I do because if I left my wife for another woman, I have some people who would be kicking my tail. Seriously, I have some pastor friends who would literally beat the crap out of me.
  • Membership Class is coming up!! If you are new to Revolution, this is the class for you. Contact Preston and sign up!
  • Heard we were a cult today. Interesting. If that is the case, I need a raise. I thought cult leaders made a lot of money.
  • I’m fried. Seriously, I am as tired as I have ever been. I am taking a couple of days off this week.
  • We have had weirdos in the service three weeks in a row. Thank God for our security team. People are just loony.
  • I’m loving this series, but I am getting VERY excited about our Prison Break series that starts at the end of the month!
  • I’m going to bed.

Sunday Night Mind Dump

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008
  • Where do I start?
  • This has been THE craziest weekend of my life.  I mean THE craziest.
  • Our Good Friday services were very cool.  I love the small space at the warehouse and it was cool to peel back all the glitz and glamor and just do a chilled thing.
  • In case you didn’t know it, we did a small Easter Egg Drop yesterday. :)
  • The police estimate around 12,000 people showed up to the egg drop and another 5,000 people didn’t make it in.  Yes, you read those numbers right.
  • It was insane, I literally mean insane.
  • YES, we’ll probably do it again……IF someone will let us.  Except next year we are dropping 250,000 eggs!!!!!!
  • I need to give it another day or two, but I will post in detail everything that happened by Wednesday.  Trust me, it will be worth the wait.
  • Today was one of the most incredible days in the history of our church!  Around 1400 in attendance and around 20 people accepted Christ as their personal Savior!!!
  • The stage design was freaking incredible.  Honestly, it was the most over the top thing I have ever seen in a portable church.  I will have pictures soon.
  • The band was insane.
  • We had a ton of new moving lights today and there were awesome.  Mark Sheldon is doing an incredible job with those.
  • When I walked in today and saw a catwalk stretching out over the crowd I flipped out!  That was off the hook!
  • I am so proud of our staff.  They worked HARD last week, the last few weeks and it showed this weekend.  If you are part of Revolution, take some time this week to let them know how much you appreciate all they do.
  • I am shocked at how little stress there was in the office this week.  That wouldn’t have been the case in the past.  It is a nice change.
  • Revolution Volunteers.  What can I say?  You guys are amazing.  Honestly, you are amazing.  I have NEVER seen a group of people like you in my life.
  • I hear an UPrising starts new Sunday night!  Students, you don’t want to miss this night!
  • I slipped on my diet the last few days.  Back on it hard tomorrow.
  • This upcoming Sunday we have some things planned that could rival today.
  • It was so exciting having people introduce me to their ONE today.  Very cool.
  • I couldn’t stop laughing at all our guys in pastels today.  Very funny.
  • Preston became a big boy this week.  I have NEVER been more proud of him as I was this week!  He made things happen.
  • We had volunteers get to the theater at midnight after being at the egg drop ALL day and stay until after we tore down today.  I told you they were amazing.
  • If we maintain attendance anywhere close to today, we are going to have to figure out how to stagger services in other theaters to make room.
  • Why does the Easter Bunny bring things that make noise?  He should only be allowed to bring quiet things.
  • It is 5:30 and I will be in bed in less than 2 hours.
  • HE is alive!

Sunday Night Mind Dump…

Sunday, March 16th, 2008
  • CRAZY, I mean CRAZY day
  • We didn’t have sound until about an hour before the first service. We had sent Tim back to get our youth sound system and for him go unplugged.
  • Thad lead worship and did a good job. He broke a guitar string in the first service but still rocked it out
  • Did I mention it was as crazy of a morning as we have had in a LONG time
  • I felt we should give everyone in the first service a refund. It is what it is, but it was rough.
  • Second service was pretty rocking. I was proud of everyone pulling together and making it happen.
  • We had people come down and write the names of their lost friends on the stage. I thought it was pretty powerful.
  • Ken Wilson outdid himself on the Rockstar video stuff. THE best stuff I have ever seen him do. It is freaking awesome.
  • Oh yeah, the video didn’t have sound in the first service. Did I mention things were crazy this morning?
  • I bragged to soon. I was laughing at other churches a few weeks ago because of the flu bug, but it hit our crew this week.
  • Children’s Check-in went GREAT!!!!! I am so glad we are doing it all through the computers now. Very nice.
  • If anyone has a suggestion on storing HUGE carpets, I want to hear them.
  • Easter Egg Drop is NEXT Saturday!!!!!!!!
  • Next week we launch Rock Star and it is going to be awesome!
  • We gave out Rock Star Energy Drinks today as invites for our people to give to their friends. I thought that was cool.
  • Good Friday service this coming week. The first service is sold out! There are about 75 tickets for the second. If you want to come, you better hit Preston up quick. You can email him at preston@therevolution.tv.  Tickets are free, but we are limited on space.
  • Did you see how awesome the kids area looked today? The girls have been doing a GREAT job down there and today it looked GREAT!
  • Taylor was on vacation today and that was not good. I will be glad when she gets back in town.
  • March Madness is here and I am so busy I could care less.
  • I have been with AT&T a week now and they can’t touch Verizon on coverage. But I do love my iPhone. :)
  • This is the perfect day to go bike riding, but I am at the office instead.
  • I am working on a post about MOST worship pastors and musicians in the church being nothing more than prostitutes. I have NOTHING against paying musicians but find it funny that most of these guys travel around on Sunday wherever the paycheck is and they don’t belong or are active in a church YET we are bringing them in to lead our people in worship. I’ll get the post done one day.
  • I hear Georgia is in the SEC finals today. I hate basketball but I will have to check that out.
  • The people we took to Unleash were FIRED up today.
  • Got a couple of new toys this week. If we can figure out how to use them, you’ll see them next week in the service!
  • How are you going to get your ONE to church Easter Sunday?
  • LOVED hearing the band do God of this City. Love that song.
  • I would appreciate your prayers this week as it is going to be insane busy.
  • I am jacked about firing up the grill in a little bit.
  • Got a meeting at 5 tonight. Broke a lot of my rules to have this meeting but I am looking forward to it.
  • I love the office on Sunday afternoons. It just quiet and that is rare.
  • Scratch that lost hit.  The band is practicing today for Easter.  It is NOT quiet.
  • I got a bunch of work to do so I better quit writing.

Sunday Night Mind Dump

Sunday, March 9th, 2008
  • AWESOME day today!!!!!!!!
  • I was shocked at how bad losing an hour made me feel. I was DOG tired today.
  • Got to get an ultrasound this week. No, I am not pregnant. :)
  • This coming Sunday we are having what could be one of the most powerful services we have ever had! You do NOT want to miss it!
  • It is still daylight!!! I love daylight savings time!!!!!!!!
  • I was supposed to go to Elevation on Tuesday, but had to reschedule to some things, so now Tim and I are going to see Kid Rock Tuesday night at the Gwinnett Arena. Should be fun.
  • Unleash Conference is Thursday and I can’t wait to hang out with the awesome people at Revolution. We have about 5 spots left if you want to go, all you have to do is let us know TODAY. We’re flipping the bill, all you got to do is take off work.
  • Fish tank is GONE!!! Man, that thing was a lot of work just to watch fish keep dying.
  • Matt Adams is redoing my blog. Can’t wait to see it!!!!! I have said it before but let me say it again: If you are looking to get a webpage done, no one is better in quality and price than Matt and Factor1Studios.
  • Digging Lee’s first CD. GREAT stuff.
  • This was my 6 years old take on the CD after hearing the rocking ending to track 2. “Only daddy can rock like that, but it is on Guitar Hero not for real.” :)
  • iPhone could be coming very soon. My treo is now cracked in 3 different places.
  • I am getting VERY excited about Easter Sunday. We have some VERY cool things planned to let the world know Jesus is ALIVE!!!!
  • The egg drop is insane!!! The paper is running a article this week, we have cards in CRAZY places, and we have a mailer hitting next week. I think this event is going to be crazy!!! I can’t wait!!!!!!
  • I am so proud of our children’s workers. Jenna has got the Planet Shaker crew rocking!!!!!!!
  • We tried to go live with computerized children’s check-in today. The key word is TRIED.
  • I am down to only 20 blogs I follow through bloglines now. I am in laser focus mode right now with what I allow to have my time. Some of the ones I deleted, I will still go check out from time to time, but not every day anymore. About 10 of them are leadership ones, the other 10 are my close friends in ministry that I want to keep close contact with.
  • I have some VERY damaging photos of Denise that if she gets out of line, I will post here on this blog.
  • Jim Carpenter from Compass in Athens was in services today. That dude makes me laugh.
  • Can you believe Easter is only TWO weeks away?????
  • I also got a copy of the new song from Swift.  He has been in the studio and the song is tight.  We’ll be busting it out in church soon.
  • Hung out at the salon today (yes, I go to a salon :) ) with some of my favorite people. I love the people from Goshen Valley Boys Ranch. They have all been in full time church ministry before so I just feel like I can be myself around them and they understand.
  • First service was a GHOST town today.
  • I have lost 11 pounds. Considering I was disabled last week, I am happy with that.
  • I got about 7 sermon series ideas for our May series, but can’t get peace about which direction to go. I have never cut it this close before.
  • I value your prayers right now on some decisions I need to make. I just need some peace and clarity on a few things I am thinking about doing.
  • When is it going to warm up?
  • I’m out.

Sunday Night Mind Dump…

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008
  • Good Day Today. Real Good.
  • Yes, I wore shoes. I do own shoes, I just don’t like them that much. I think this was the first time I have ever wore them in the theater. DeAnna says it is time to change my style up a little. Considering all I wear is flops, jeans, and whatever shirt is clean, she is probably right.
  • Fun worship today. Reggae style worship. That was fun for ONE week. Look forward to being back to our rocking ways next week.
  • Kingdom-minded. God is hitting, I mean BEATING me over the head with that lately.
  • The last two weeks I have been out of the office for half the week for various reasons and that has me all out of whack.
  • Thad was on stage today. Look forward to seeing how God is going to use him and Jill at Revolution. Pray for his house to sell fast!
  • Have you heard we are dropping 50,000 eggs out of a helicopter in the largest egg hunt in the history of Cherokee County?
  • Unleash is NEXT week!!!!!! I can’t wait to hang out with the 100 people from Revolution who are going with us to this awesome day!
  • Tuesday is our once a month all staff meeting and I am pretty pumped up about it. I love our team and love hanging out with them.
  • Next week I am headed to North Carolina to hang with the the crew at Elevation. Adam is joining me and I am looking forwar to picking Furtick’s brain on a BUNCH of stuff. I love those guys and the investment they continually make in my life and the life of Revolution.
  • Digging Alter Bridge big time right now. BTW, their webpage is SICK.
  • Had Lettuce Wraps at PF Changs last week and I am craving them right now. That is my new favorite dish.
  • My birthday is in a month and a day and I think Ashlyn is more excited than I am. Those days don’t mean as much the older you get. I’ll still accept gifts though. :)
  • I have been around so many church planters lately that it is crazy. No one drives me as crazy as planters, but no one pumps me up as much as planters either.
  • Had fun hanging out with Eddie Johnson this week. Eddie is the second person to say this about me. Had another person I respect tell me this when we started the church. Not sure if I should take it as a compliment or not. :)
  • I’m injured. Injured bad. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow, I hope. Still need your prayers as I am in pain!!!!
  • Downloaded my first Hannah Montana song last night. It was for Ashlyn and it just shows what you will do for your kids.
  • When does football start?
  • I think it is time to get an iPhone. I really, really, really want one.
  • I am loving the weather outside today!!!
  • I learned today that the women of our church are some serious drug dealers. Seriously, I have never had more women try and give me drugs today for my pain. They are like walking pharmacies.
  • Austin Porter was in our service today but I was in way to much pain to connect. He might be the shortest church planter I have ever met. He might actually be a midget, but I am excited about what God is in store for him.
  • The Easter Egg promo video cracked me up today. Too funny.
  • Easter weekend is going to be insane! Friday night worship and prayer service, Saturday Egg Drop, and Sunday we are pulling out the stops for our Sunday morning service.
  • We are transitioning our Starting Over group to Celebrate Recovery. VERY excited about this.
  • Because of the pain I am in, I didn’t get to connect with a lot of people today and that felt pretty weird.
  • Lots of guests today. Very cool.
  • They say the weather is supposed to suck this week. That sucks.
  • I’m loving the way the kids area is coming together!
  • Are you working on getting your ONE to church on Easter Sunday?
  • I was supposed to introduce Thad to the church today. I forgot.
  • Jenna just sent me an email from a child whose parents got mad and left the church a while back. The little girl was talking about how much she missed the church. Wow. I was shocked at how upset that made me. That isn’t cool.
  • Talked to another friend this week who left our church about 2 years ago and still hasn’t found a church after looking at several. Told him he needed to come “home.” I was serious.
  • Two more weeks in our ONE series and what until you see what we have planned the week before Easter. It is going to be POWERFUL!!!
  • I’m going to take some more drugs for my problem

Sunday Night Mind Dump

Sunday, February 24th, 2008
  • Good day. I am glad winter break is over!
  • The band was insane today.
  • Dave Anderson was hanging out today.
  • Laney and Jenna seemed pumped up after spending the week at the children’s confeence at Fellowship Church.
  • Different type of message today, but one I felt needed to be talked about.
  • I shut down my facebook account today. It was fun at first but I am sick of answering movie questions, getting monkeys thrown at me, being asked to join everyone’s hobby horse issue, and just how much time I spent logged in there.
  • Movie started early again. I hope this isn’t a trend.
  • Three Days into losing weight against other pastors. I feel GOOD, but tomorrow I turn it up another notch.
  • DeAnna and I are going away for a couple of days this week to Nashville. I am meeting with a bunch of pastors to talk shop. We are staying an extra night to practice what I preach. :)
  • Easter Egg Drop is coming fast!
  • Easter Sunday is coming fast!
  • I am really seeking God on some location things and I think I am starting to get some clarity.
  • Met a guy starting a church in Canton this week. God has really grown me in this area. 3 years ago, I felt like I owned this town. Now, I just want to see people meet Jesus and we could use a dozen more churches who are actually reaching people. I’m excited about what he is doing.
  • I am REALLY checking out another Canton location. IF (a big IF) you could find the right location you could be centered between Macedonia, Holly Springs, and Hickory Flat and there are a ton of homes there and no one really making an impact. The area is wide open.
  • Excited about Thad starting this coming Sunday!
  • Student Ministry? Wait for it……. Trust me, it is coming very soon.
  • The song “God Of This City” is rocking my world right now. Not a normal song I would like but the words are so freaking powerful. I love the city God has called us to reach.
  • DeAnna ran another race yesterday. She is so disciplined. I’m proud of her.
  • Bummed I am not going to see Van Halen again tomorrow night because they cancelled. Oh well, I am thrilled I got to see them once.
  • Several churches wanting to do our ONE series. Very cool. If you want the graphics shoot us an email. They are very simple and that is on purpose. You probably don’t want the intro video as it is very focused on Revolution and wouldn’t work in other churches….probably.
  • Thad, have you sold your house yet? :)
  • This morning was just chaos before the first service.  It is just one of those mornings where things were tense.  I’m done a lot better at not coming in the mornings, but this morning I did.  Not a good idea.
  • DeAnna took the kids off today to something.  I should remember what, but I can’t.
  • Bil’s talk at ChurchPlanters.com is still messing with me.  The phrase swing until your hands bleed is something I can’t get out of my head.  We are going to swing until our hands bleed to get the word out about Easter.  There are so many areas where that doesn’t make sense but I want people knowing what we have planned.
  • Still a few, a very few spots open for the Unleash Conference.  If you want to go, you have to let us know this week.  Trust me, you want to go.
  • My weight isn’t the only thing I am being more disciplined about.  Starting this week I have to get my schedule and my time back under control.  That is a good thing.
  • Reading several good books right now.
  • I’m going to to chill out.  See ya!
