I guess I am living every man’s dream because I got a date with three women coming up. :) I have been selected to accompany the beautiful Jennifer Popp and Mandy Harrison, along with the MOST beautiful woman in the world, my wife DeAnna to the Michael Buble concert.

At first I thought I was going to have to turn in my man card to Chris and Travis because I was going to the concert, but then I realized I am taking three women so that has to count for something. :)

What can I say? That’s just how I roll…. :)

GREAT website!!!!!

Shout out to Tony Morgan for turning me on to Pandora.  We have been tearing this thing up in the office the last two days.  If you are a music lover it is GREAT!  You type in the band you are digging at the time and it plays music that is in the same genre and has the same sound.  I have been introduced to some GREAT new music that I had never heard before.

So far I have created stations off these artists:

Allman Brothers

Nickelback

Lifehouse (the best station so far)

Bon Jovi

Jack Johnson

If you are a music person you got to check this site out.

Live Earth

Music — Gary on July 7, 2007 at 9:19 pm

Sitting here watching the Live Earth concert on TV and loving it!!!

  • Beastie Boys were freaking rocking!
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers are simply great. Add them with the Black Eyed Peas and that was sweet.
  • Metallica can still bring the rock!
  • Roger Waters!!!!  Loved the huge white pig floating around!  Love Pink Floyd!!!
  • It was funny watching the concert taking place in China. Those dudes were rocking though I could understand none of it!
  • Man there is a lot of people at those venues!
  • Love Alicia Keys!!! Beautiful woman with a beautiful voice
  • Al Gore is one ugly looking dude
  • John Mayer is good. Plain and simple, the dude is good. Got tickets to go see him next month!
  • Wolfmother are about 30 years too late. If they would have been around in the 70’s, they would have been THE band of the day. The dudes are GREAT!
  • Two Words: Spinal Tap!
  • I could listen to Jack Johnson all day. The dude just chills me out.
  • Haven’t seen the wife in a week and she walks in the door and Bon Jovi is on. She ignored me. :)
  • Uh, Shakira can really dance well….
  • Saw Keith Urban and I just can’t understand how people think Malcolm looks like him, but they do!
  • Where was U2? I thought Bono was Mr. Cause.
  • I love music!

Just downloaded the lastest from Bon Jovi.  Yep, I am sad to admit it, but I am a huge fan.  Listened to it once so far and I am surprised how country sounding it is.  It isn’t bad but it is very country sounding.  Of course there a ton of shredding guitar solos so that is cool. :)

I wonder if he got that at The Stone? :)

Books, Music — Gary on June 18, 2007 at 7:55 pm

Saw this on Bob’s blog and thought it was pretty cool. That is WHY Andy Stanley is the pimp! Snoop couldn’t have picked a better book to read that is why we give them away to every first time guest.

Ashlyn who is 5 has suddenly in the last month started learning and singing songs she hears on the radio like crazy.  She LOVES music.  It is funny hearing her sing Linkin Park, Maroon 5, and Gnarls Barkley.

Ashlyn will be the pastor of The Stone one day and because of that I know the music will continue to rock!

Dirty South Type of Mood….

Music — Gary on June 13, 2007 at 11:06 am

Whenver I am studying, I am listening to music.  Believe it or not, I am normally listening to classical if I am studying but as I prepare for Sunday’s message, I am a Dirty South state of mind so that means some good ole Southern Rock.

Here is the playlist that I call Dirty South Jam:

Melissa - Allman Brothers

Simple Man- Skynyrd

Hurt - Cash

Blue Sky - Allman Brothers

She Talks To Angels - Black Crowes

Ballad of Curtis Lowe - Skynyrd

Highwaymen - The Highwaymen

Signs - Steve Miller Band

Sweet Home Alabama - Skynyrd

Hard to Handle - Black Crowes

Midnight Rider - Allman Brothers

Yep, Sunday is going to be good!

Chilling with Van Halen

The rain is coming down, Ashlyn is off to my sisters house and I am chilling and listening to Van Halen!!!!  I got to the office today and found this CD and a few others from an awesome dude in the church.

I love to hear Eddie just freaking shred a guitar!!! I hate to see how Van Halen sort of just jumped the shark a few years ago.  I love David singing and I love Sammy singing but they are the one group that will never regroup I think.  Even when they tried touring this year it fell apart.  What a shame because the boys could bring IT!!!

Wednesday Night Jam: Big and Rich

Just downloaded the latest from Big and Rich called: Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace. What a great name for a CD!!!!   If I ever write a book, I might have to steal that title!

The CD is GREAT!  They like to say they are country music without prejudice.  Well they nail that on this CD.  They are joined by R & B singers, rappers, and do a country version of shook me all night long by AC/DC.

GREAT CD!
